Census: Whites no longer a majority in US by 2043

...White people will no longer make up a majority of Americans by 2043....

The total U.S. population should climb to 420 million by 2060, with whites making up 43 percent. Hispanics, currently 17 percent of the population, will jump to 31 percent, or nearly 1 in 3 residents. Blacks will make up 14.7 percent, up slightly.

The point when minority children become the majority is expected to occur in 2019; last year, minorities became the majority among U.S. newborns.

It is not racist to discuss demographics. If it were, we would point to the Denver Post and Hope Yen as racist bigots. So let us therefore note that demographic composition of US population is changing because of three reasons:

- American women voluntarily reached replacement level fertility (2.1 children per woman) in 1972.

- Legal immigration and illegal migration into the US continue at high levels.

- Fertility of illegal aliens remains higher than  replacement level.

So if we are to stabilize US population, we must enforce existing laws preventing illegal entry into our country and reduce fertility uniformly across the entire US population. Otherwise, we are destined to become an overpopulated nation of unassimilated squabbling nationalities.
