A bipartisan duo of senators are reviving negotiations for a potential deal on immigration reform [amnesty for illegal aliens] - including providing legal status for 2 million Dreamers and billions of dollars for border security - with the hope they can tackle the issue before the new Congress takes effect next year.
Why it matters: Lawmakers in both parties have repeatedly failed to clinch an agreement on bipartisan immigration reform [amnesty for illegal aliens].
- But with the impending end to the pandemic-era Title 42 border policy on Dec. 21 and concerns that a federal judge may soon dismantle the Obama-era Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program, members are revisiting the long-held desire to find a compromise.
Driving the news: Sens. Kyrsten Sinema (D-Ariz.) and Thom Tillis (R-N.C.) have reached an agreement on a draft framework, the Washington Post first reported.
- Both were crucial members involved in recent successful bipartisan deals struck during the Biden administration, including infrastructure and gun reform legislation.
The loose framework, subject to change, includes:
- A pathway to citizenship for two million Dreamers - undocumented immigrants [illegal aliens] brought to the U.S. as children.
- Roughly $25 billion-$40 billion in increased funding for Border Patrol and border security, including a commitment to hiring more agents and increasing their pay....
Notes
- "Immigration reform" is code for amnesty for illegal aliens. Congress has already given seven amnesties to illegal aliens.
- "Pathway to citizenship" is code for amnesty for illegal aliens. If this amnesty is given to illegal aliens, it will pave the way for even more amnesties in the future.
- "Undocumented immigrants" is politically correct speak for illegal aliens.
- It doesn't matter how many billions are spent for Border Patrol if the Biden Regime won't let them do their job and protect America's border.
- Why are funds NOT allocated to completing the boarder wall? The answer, of course, is that the Biden regime, along with Kyrsten Sinema (D-Ariz.) and Thom Tillis (R-N.C.) want ever more illegal aliens to sneak into America. Democrats want the cheap immigrant vote and RINO Republicans want the cheap, foreign labor.
