Among much else we cover the I-Squared Act, S.153, (short for the "Immigration Innovation Act of 2015"). If you are an American worker, that bill is more appropriately called the "I'm Screwed Act". But there was so much other ground to cover, our book does not go into the bill's provisions in detail. Therefore, I thought I would take the time to do that here.
But first, some background on the book. We were fortunate to have good timing, with the book coming out after the media has partially lifted its blackout on reporting the politically incorrect fact that employers use foreign workers to replace Americans.
It took months from the time ComputerWorld and a local TV station reported that Americans were replaced by H-1B workers at Walt Disney World to the time it was first reported in the New York Times. As I previously pointed out, the local newspaper, the Orlando Sentinel, reported on the Disney layoffs but, in a case of political correctness run wild, failed to report the fact that foreign workers were replacing those losing their jobs.
While we have reached the first step of getting some in the media to look at the issue, there is still a long way to go toward educating the media. When it comes to H-1B, the mainstream media has not gotten beyond the talking points, and is still reporting nonsense like this:
Congress set up the H-1B visa program to help American companies hire foreigners with specialized skills, mainly in science and technology, for positions for which American workers with those abilities cannot be found. The goal was to help the economy expand and, ultimately, create more jobs for Americans.
Sorry, wrong. The H-1B program was designed for employers to replace Americans with cheap foreign workers and to allow employers to abuse the system with impunity. In the space of a book, Michelle and I are able to go into the actual legislation to show how this was deliberately done...
Rubio sponsored S.744 in the last Congress – the Gang of Eight bill – and now sponsors the I'm Screwed Act I-Squared Act.
In Sold Out, Michelle and I examine in depth the provisions of S.744 to show what they actually do, and demonstrate how "Comprehensive Immigration Reform" was really a comprehensive fraud. It's the same with the I-Squared Act.
The bill currently has 14 sponsors, most of whom are from the Stupid Party (i.e., the GOP). Or one could say "The Stupid Few of the Republican Party that make the entire party look stupid":
Sen. Orin Hatch (R-Utah)
Sen. Amy Klobuchar (D-Minn.)
Sen. Marco Rubio (R-Fla.)
Sen. Christopher Coons (D-Del.)
Sen. Jeff Flake (R-Ariz.)
Sen. Richard Blumenthal (D-Conn.)
Sen. Dean Heller (R-Nev.)
Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.)
Sen. Kelly Ayotte (R-N.H.)
Sen. Claire McCaskill (D-Mo.)
Sen. Cory Gardner (R-Colo.)
Sen. Angus King (I-Maine)
Sen. Mike Lee (R-Utah)
Sen. Mark Kirk (R-Ill.)
...The most significant change (lengthwise) is that the fixed 65,000 annual quota gets replaced with a tangle of text. It takes a lawyer to figure out what is going on.
The short version is that the bill immediately raises the [H-1B] quota to 115,000. But if the quota gets reached in any year, it automatically gets increased up to 50,000 a year. The actual effect here is that the quota immediately gets raised to 165,000. And the quota can keep rising by 50,000 a year until it reaches 255,000...
Rubio & Co. have created a bill that gives big money everything it wants (unlimited foreign labor) and nothing of what it doesn't want (protections for Americans)...
Rubio says one thing and does another.
In others words Rubio & Co. have completely Sold Out...
In January of 2015, a handful of Senators quietly introduced new legislation in Congress that would allow for virtually unlimited Muslim immigration into the United States – lifting caps entirely on several categories of visas favored by immigrants from Muslim countries.
The Mark Zuckerberg-backed legislation, S.153, is called the Immigration Innovation Act (or I-Squared), and it has taken on new significance following the terrorist attacks in San Bernardino. Those attacks were only possible due to Muslim immigration: Syed Farook is reportedly the child of Pakistani immigrants, and his jihadi bride, Tashfeen Malik, was reportedly born in Pakistan.
The I-Squared bill is significant for a second reason. One of the Senators who introduced the bill is also running for President: Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL). And several of Rubio’s most prominent financial backers are among the bill’s boosters.
I-Squared would expand five major visa categories used by Muslim migrants: the F-1 foreign student visa, green cards for foreign students, green cards for their family members, the H-1B foreign worker visa, and the H-4 spousal visa...
Rubio has also recently called for admitting Syrian refugees into the United States and helped vote down a Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY) amendment to pause immigration from over 30 Muslim countries with jihadist movements.
Muslim immigration—even without the expansions being pushed by Rubio and Zuckerberg—is already one of the fastest-growing blocs of new immigration.
As DHS data presented by the Senate Immigration Subcommittee has documented, “over the next five years, the U.S. can expect to issue more green cards to migrants from Muslim-majority nations than the population of Washington D.C. (660,000).”
A recent Pew report found that “nearly all Muslims in Afghanistan (99%) and most in Iraq (91%) and Pakistan (84%) support sharia law as official law.” Yet in the last five years, the U.S. has issued 83,000 green cards to Pakistan, 83,000 green cards to Iraq and 11,000 green cards to Afghanistan...
Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) smashed Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL), one of his 2016 GOP presidential rivals, for breaking his promise to the voters who elected him that he would not support amnesty for illegal aliens...
They represent one of the most unreported stories in the 2016 presidential cycle: Rubio’s work on not just the “Gang of Eight” amnesty bill, but now the recently discovered unlimited mass Muslim-migration provisions in his so-called “I-Squared” bill recently uncovered by a Breitbart News investigation from reporter Julia Hahn...
“Border security is national security,” Cruz told Breitbart News in the interview when asked what separates him and Rubio when it comes to national security. “No candidate who has advocated amnesty, who has advocated leaving our border unsecured, who has advocated giving President [Barack] Obama the ability to bring in tens of thousands of Syrian refugees with no background checks can plausibly claim to be an effective leader on national security,” he said...
Cruz is correct in his criticism that Rubio violated the promise he made to Floridians. In fact, back when he was running for Senate in 2010, he explicitly stated multiple times he wouldn’t back an amnesty.
“In fact, I’m strongly against amnesty… So I am not and I will never support – never have and never will support — any effort to grant blanket, legalization amnesty to folks who have entered or stayed in this country illegally,” Rubio said in one such instance in the 2010 election against former Gov. Charlie Crist, who also flip-flopped on immigration.
