The promise of amnesty

26 January 2013

Arizona Border Patrol incidents November 19, 2012 One of the significant factors driving unending illegal immigration into the United States is simply talking about a possible amnesty. Holding out the carrot of amnesty has been sufficient to pull wave after wave of illegal aliens into the United States. This results in thousands upon thousands of new consumers for corporate products. Republicans get an unending stream of cheap foreign labor, and Democrats get an unending stream of "undocumented Democrats" who unerringly vote for the party handing out the most freebies.

Actually, you are more likely to hear one of the code phrases used to refer to amnesty for illegal aliens, such as "legalization", "earned path to citizenship", "pathway to citizenship", "legalization for undocumented immigrants", "comprehensive immigration reform", and "legal status for illegal immigrants". Politicians and the mainstream media will say just about anything to obscure the issue - and the facts.

Glenn Spencer of American Patrol wrote on January 25, 2013:

The U.S. Border Patrol is being overwhelmed by a huge surge of people invading the United States of America from Mexico. According to data being acquired by SecureBorderIntel.org, the Border Patrol is trying to stop up to 1,000 people a day who cross the border illegally south of Tucson, Arizona. Most get through.

Using intelligence sources and methods that cannot be revealed at this time, SBI is able to document individual enforcement actions by date, time and type and, in some cases, location. SBI estimates that it is able to specifically document approximately 1/3 of all actual activity.

From January 1 to November 19 of 2012, SBI documented 5,812 individual enforcement actions, of which 1,506 included GPS locations. The map shown on this page shows the location of those actions.

Since SBI logs only 1/3 of all actions, the total USBP enforcements is approximately 17,000 (3 X 5,812) for the period covered. Thus, the locations shown on the map are thus less than 1/10 of actual activity.

The process used by SBI to produce these results is very labor intensive. Because of the huge surge across the border, it has fallen behind in processing the data. The analyst who does the work reported an "enormous" jump in activity after January 18, however.

The most recent surge began after August 15, 2012, the date when Barack Obama's new amnesty program went into effect.

There is no question that Customs and Border Patrol personnel are being overwhelmed.

It should be noted that American Border Patrol has performed comprehensive studies of the US border fence and border security. The Secure Fence Act of 2006 called for at least 700 miles of double layered fencing along the US - Mexico Border. As of February, 2009, The Department of Homeland Security had constructed only 5% of the border fence called for by the Act, yet in locations where the fence was built it has significantly reduced illegal immigration. It is quite evident that our government is not serious about securing our border.

How many illegal aliens in the US?

From the above analysis, approximately 1,000 illegal aliens sneak across the US-Mexico border south of Tucson alone; most avoid capture at the border. This raises the question as to how many aliens sneak across the entire border into the United States every year and how many illegal aliens actually live in the United States?

Mainstream media categorically quote the official government figure of 8-12 million. This number originated with December 2003 Department of Homeland Security estimates that 8 million to 12 million illegal aliens resided in the United States and that 700,000 new illegals enter each year and remain in the country.

It is abundantly clear that huge numbers of illegal aliens sneak into our country and avoid capture at our border, yet the media as well as government agencies seem quite content to under-report the count by using stale 2003 numbers. Unvarying official estimates must be suspect, as they are produced by the very entity responsible for the tidal wave of illegal aliens entering our nation - the United States Government.

Various studies have been conducted using alternative methodologies that indicate that between 20 million and 40 million illegal aliens have evaded apprehension and live in the United States. (See How many illegal aliens reside in the United States?)

Yet another amnesty?

Night lights of twice the current US population There have been a total of seven amnesties for illegal aliens since the 1986 "amnesty to end all amnesties." The impact of yet an eighth amnesty for such huge numbers of illegals will be devastating for our country.

Mass immigration is driving US population to double within the lifetimes of children born today. Where will we get the farmland to feed such huge numbers? Water? Petroleum - which we are already extracting from other countries? This is the future that Congress has mandated for our children - of all races, creeds, and colors.
